The Ugly Word: Jealousy

By admin - Last updated: Wednesday, May 16, 2012

What has day it was yesterday. I interviewed several applicants for Intern/Assistant position & amp; amp; also added 15 (8×10) Cocoa & amp; amp; Hearts paintings to the site, & amp; nbsp; which sold out in less than 20 minutes! & amp; nbsp; Ace always, I' m amazed & amp; amp; thankful. & amp; nbsp; & amp; nbsp; It' S been has wonderful experiment being whitebait to pick up the Paint brush again & amp; amp; actually salt my work At this level. My mom paints ace well, she' S very creative. in fact, I got my creativity from her. & amp; nbsp; Goal there' S year ugly side to having has business & amp; amp; being relatively successful – people begin to HASTE. Some people you thought liked you gold were your friends all off have sudden start to remove themselves from your circle. This has happened to me one has number off occasions in the last few years & amp; amp; it' S mind boggling. Even for those who don' T know you in person & amp; amp; just share year occasional hello gold two online – even distant nap off those people become extremely. Heck, I' ve even had (so called) friends that cuts been jealous that I cuts such has wonderful husband. Could this Be jealousy in it' S ugliest form? & amp; nbsp; I sour hope not, goal we all know that this world is broken & amp; amp; so we cuts people with hidden diaries who cuts No interest in one' S heart goal instead what they edge squeeze out off you. & amp; nbsp; & amp; nbsp; Almost EVERY time I launch the newest paintings, I get has to hasten email. TO HASTEN email, edge you believe that? Telling me how my art IS NOT art! & amp; nbsp; I laugh & amp; amp; don' T bother responding. However, today, I' does D coil to ask them, cuts you ever been to the MOMA, Getty gold The PUTS? & amp; nbsp; It' S interesting, nap people I know don' T consider Cy Twombly' S work to Be art because off it' S sheer simplicity, goal I C. I think it' S genius. Interesting how that works right? My not is, art comes in various forms. Sour, not everyone will COILS my art, goal I' m not making paintings for everyone. Simple My art is relatively, colorful, modern, vibrating, happy & amp; amp; full off emotion! Again, not for everyone. One the other hand, I get batches off SUPPORT from nap amazing bloggers & amp; amp; readers who cuts written butt my work gold expressed to their thoughts via email. Someone even asked the other day, ' Jen, why don' does T you cut your work in has gallery? " The answer to that is – I don' T know. I haven' T had (yet) has gallery approach me butt my work, but I approach them. Being in has gallery has batch off work, and even though I' m not against it, it is something I' D definitely cuts to think butt yew approached. Speaking off amazing support, young stag has beautiful post that was emailed to me from has reader who expressed what my art meant to her. And to the HATERS, jealousy is probably the reason you' Re taking time out off your day to email me. It' S that simple. Ace for me, I will continues to C what I coils. & amp; nbsp; You felt similar feelings off jealousy within the online community cuts? How butt in your own circle off friends? Does How cut you dealt with it?? – images by jen ramos

Design: Over Dyed Area Rugs

By admin - Last updated: Saturday, May 12, 2012

Hello MBG readers! Brooke Jones bringing you an interesting trend, over dyed area rugs. I mean, who said old dogs can’t learn new tricks? Over dyed area rugs are just that– vintage rugs that have seen better days that are re-dyed in bright cheery new colors.   They almost look like abstract paintings for your floors, don’t you think? These rugs would work great to update a traditional room or add a bit of history to modern spaces: a win-win no matter where you use them! Here are my favorite picks from ABC Carpet & Home:{images via ABC Carpet & Home}

Welcome back everyone! How was your weekend? Anything wonderful happen to you?? For me, I had a lovely weekend! There’s so much going on with both MadeByGirl & Cocoa & Hearts. I’ve been painting & shooting paintings as well as re-designing my main entire site, MadeByGirl – (probably blog too)! Then of course there’s my personal life. . . . found a new church here in NYC that suits us both a bit more (I hope), so we shall see what happens.   So, this Monday morning I wanted to share a super cool store called Zinc Door. The shop is run by two talented ladies, Wendy Rossiter Estes & Tiffany Grayce Harris.  These ladies created the popular shop, Layla Grayce where they highlight their passion for traditional, European, cottage and coastal decor. This time around their shop Zinc Door brings us classics with an updated edge. . . which is totally my style! In fact, if I had money to burn, I’d furnish my entire place with Zinc Door.   -images via zinc door
